The Mexican-American got here in for criticism from the champion’s supporters
Andy Ruiz Jr was taunted by Anthony Joshua’s travelling followers at their weigh-in on Friday in New York.
The British contingent chanted ‘Who’re ya?’ and ‘You fats b****rd’ because the challenger walked to the stage earlier than his remaining face-off with the champion earlier than their fight.
Ruiz weighed in at 268lbs (19st 2lbs) whereas AJ registered 247.8lbs (17st 9lbs 13oz) for his US debut at MSG in New York.
After the weigh-in AJ informed Sky: “I simply wanna say thanks for popping out and supporting.
“It’s all about getting within the ring and doing the job, so I’m wanting ahead to it.”
When requested for his remaining prediction, the champion despatched a message to followers watching again residence in England: “I received’t preserve you up too lengthy.”
