The Cardiff striker, who had been lacking since January 21st has died aged 28
A physique that was recovered from a aircraft which crashed within the English channel has been formally recognized as Cardiff striker Emiliano Sala.
The familes of Sala and the pilot of the aircraft David Ibbotson have been knowledgeable, Dorset Police have confirmed.
Dorset Police mentioned in an announcement: “The physique delivered to Portland Port at the moment, Thursday February 7 2019, has been formally recognized by HM Coroner for Dorset as that {of professional} footballer Emiliano Sala.
“The households of Mr Sala and the pilot David Ibbotson have been up to date with this information and can proceed to be supported by specially-trained household liaison officers.
“Our ideas stay with them at this troublesome time.
“HM Coroner will continue to investigate the circumstances of this death supported by Dorset Police.”
The Piper Malibu N264DB plane lost contact with air traffic control over the Channel, north of Guernsey, on Monday January 21.
An initial search and rescue operation failed to locate the plane but it was later discovered by the Air Accident Investigation Branch and privately funded search teams.
