West Midlands police have confirmed a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of encroachment on to the pitch and assault on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

An announcement learn: “We’ve arrested a person following an assault on an Aston Villa participant on the Second Metropolis derby right now.

“A pitch invader punched Villa’s Jack Grealish within the head through the first half of the match at St Andrews this afternoon.”

The incident occurred within the ninth minute of the Championship conflict, nevertheless, Grealish was unharmed.
